Ana Lucia Garcia Hoefken

Ana Lucia Garcia Hoefken is a visual artist who received her art education at Central Saint Martins in London and currently is completing a Postgraduate Degree at the Escola Massana in Barcelona. She is also a qualified engineer and in 2018 was a resident at the High House Residency in Norfolk, UK. Her first solo show in 2020 was titled "Común Denominador." She has also exhibited collectively in London and Spain.
Her practice investigates the properties and limitations of matter to understand its relationship to the medium and dismantle imposed cultural representations. In this way, she seeks to disrupt predetermined perceptions, provoking new meanings and exposing the perpetual change in the categorisation of the elements.
