Bio
Lilian Evans, a London-born artist currently based in Glasgow, is completing her Master of Fine Art at The Glasgow School of Art after graduating from Loughborough University. Her practice is a deeply personal exploration into the boundaries of painting, reflecting a complex, almost tumultuous relationship with the medium. In her debut solo exhibition A Place in My Heart at The Pipe Factory and subsequent shows across Glasgow, Evans has explored themes of attachment, abandonment, and transformation.
Using discarded objects and waste materials—ticket stubs, nails, fabrics—she redefines the conventional boundaries of painting, probing questions of value and perspective in our material world. Evans’ work celebrates the potential of art to renew and transform, confronting viewers with the beauty and possibility inherent in the overlooked and the abandoned. Her practice is a celebration of art’s ability to infuse new life into forgotten materials, offering a commentary on sustainability and the value we assign to objects.
