Regina Torres Thompson

b. 1991, Mexico City

Regina Torres Thompson is a London-based sculptor whose work explores the emotional and philosophical tensions that shape the human condition. Working primarily in clay, her practice is informed by early training in painting and ceramics, as well as academic studies in mathematics, Sanskrit, and ancient Indian philosophy.

A dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner, Regina holds an MA in Textual Traditions of Yoga and Meditation from SOAS and is currently completing a part-time MA in Indology (Sanskrit) at the University of Hamburg—a path she describes as “slow academia,” mirroring the contemplative rhythm of her studio work.

Her sculptures investigate the materiality of the body, examining how it becomes a site of memory, identity, and meaning. By challenging the mind-body divide, she invites viewers into a sensory engagement with vulnerability, nostalgia, and transformation.

Regina is a resident at Culford Studio and has exhibited at Turner Contemporary (Margate Ceramics Market), Casa Ágape, and One Paved Court Gallery. Her work has been featured in Artist Closeup magazine.
