Su’s underlying significance of her paintings, explores the shadowy borderland between truth and memory. Authorship, and identity within painting. She aims to examine how things are remembered, how they lose their shape, and how they can be manipulated. As we are always subjective when retelling an event, with or without a purpose. We often unintentionally brainwash ourselves and the people who listen to our stories. It happens out of regrets, miscounting the time and choices, and unchangeable behaviours triggers the point of no return. Therefore, Su’s paintings never merely portray reality; rather, they embody emotions transmuted into tangible existence.
These paintings are conversations and intuitions performed on the surface, mostly on linen. They are representations of her dreams that revolve around her consciousness, and when the unconscious takes control, it becomes more about what she tries to hide. The enigmatic quality consistently persisted, resembling an intricate puzzle that demands interpretation. Erasing traces of specific elements, bodies and movements became deconstructed, directed by particular emotions, and formed new motifs. Performance on the linen through transformation between figuration and abstraction.
