'One Piece Missing', 2024
£600.00
Unique
Oil, ink and primer on canvas
61.5 x 46 x 4 cm
Signed: Signed on back of canvas.
"Part of the Rumours of Treasure series, a large body of work covering two years. Very loosely based on a scene in Feira da Ladra, a large and very old flea market in Lisbon, Portugal, where I spent lots of time during an art residency. I was interested in keeping the larger figure in the foreground very blank and unfinished, with more texture and colour in the background, perhaps evoking that moment where your focus shifts in a busy environment. The title refers to the literal, meaning one missing piece of a physical collection in the market, but also suggesting something perhaps more metaphorical or spiritual, something about our perpetual search."
